It has been SO HOT lately here in Oklahoma! We've been enduring some triple digit temperatures for the past few days, and I don't know if you've ever felt anything like that, but believe me, it is almost unbearable. But it's a good thing that we get a lot of wind here, otherwise it would just be too much!
With all this hot temperature, I've been wearing a lot of shorts and skirts. Personally, the shortest length I wear for shorts is right above the knee. So capris and bermuda shorts are a lifesaver for me, especially in the summertime.
Now, I am by no means a fashion expert and I do not consider myself to be very stylish at all, but I do enjoy putting some outfits together. Once you get into it, it is a lot of fun to try new ideas and mix unlikely clothing articles and see what you like. Maybe sharing some of my outfit creations will be an inspiration and a benefit to you.
The shirt that I wore in this outfit was handed down to me from my sister Abby. It is just a tad too big for me, but I feel more comfortable wearing a shirt that is too big rather than one that is too tight, so I keep it around. It is a v-neck that dips too low for my comfort zone, so I paired it up with a black tank-top to wear underneath to provide that extra coverage.
I really love these white shorts. They come down just above the knee and the fabric is thick enough that it's not see-through (which is the biggest issue with any white clothing!). I've actually been wearing these a lot over the summer and they go with almost anything. Usually I wear them with a button-up, but I wanted to keep it casual for this outfit. These were also handed down to me from a friend.
I wanted to add some fun color, so I picked these cute shoes to wear! I admit it, I love shoes. These ones especially are some of my favorites because the color is so fun. I got these from Shopko with a gift card.
This might be weird, but when I wear shoes like this I don't like my socks to be seen. (Is that strange?) But I don't like to wear shoes without socks, so I wore these with them. I don't even know what they are called, but they are socks that only cover your toes and heel that normal people would wear with ballet flats. (They look a little dirty in the picture, but it was just some lint showing up on the black fabric.) These were a gift from another friend.
So I put it all together and this is what I got! It was fun and colorful, yet cool enough to wear in the hot weather.
I hope that you enjoyed this! Let me know if you would like to see more outfit ideas in the future, or if you prefer just lecture-type posts on modesty.
I hope you have a great day!
