Onward! To 2017!

If I was to use one phrase to sum up 2016, it would probably be this:

"Life is stressful, God is faithful."

2016 definitely had its share of ups and downs, concerns, times of laughter and joy, times of heartbreak and tears. But you know what? Through it all I can truthfully say that God was in control and He was faithful to bring me through.

I don't know about you, but I am always excited to start a new year. I love fresh starts and I always look forward to them. I love to make resolutions and move on from old things that don't mean a lot to me anymore or old habits that I need to break. Of course, I don't have to wait until a new year starts to do those things, but it inspires me to do them all the more.

I am looking forward to this new year and all the opportunities that I will have to serve my Lord! I'd like to start some new things here on this blog, too. I'd like to do a Bible study series, share some modest fashion ideas, share artwork that I've been working on, and a lot of other fun ideas! I know that I am excited and I hope that you are too!

On another note, this is my last week here at the house until I head back up to school on Friday. So if I seem to disappear for six months again, you know why.

I thought it would be kind of fun to share with you the resolutions that I have made so far. I usually don't do anything too crazy because I'm not very likely to keep them easily, so I kept it pretty simple this year.

1. During the school year, go to bed at 9:30 on weeknights.

2. Do my devotions and write in my prayer journal every morning.

3. Start taking walks regularly.

4. Read before bedtime.

5. Get all homework done before the end of the first month.
(This one is about the craziest one of them all, but I'm going to try hard to do it!)

6. Keep my room clean.

7. Post at least once per week on the blog.
(Yay! I will try!)

8. Do more artwork.

This list is still in the works, but these are some of the things I have so far! What about you? Do you have any resolutions? What phrase would you use to sum up 2016?

God bless you all and have a happy new year!
